What is the best steakhouse to bring girlfriend to in the bay area California?

My preferred location would be around the south bay area (San Jose). But I would take restaurants in SF if they are really good.What is the best steakhouse to bring girlfriend to in the bay area California?
There is no Ruth's Chris or Morton's in the South Bay -- but there is one of each in San Francisco. I'm not fond of either one for a romantic night out. They're just too commercial, overcrowded, and noisy. In the San Jose area, I recommend The Grill on the Alley in the Fairmont, in downtown San Jose. It's at 172 S. Market. Lovely clubby atmosphere, great service, and great steaks. It's my favorite for a special occasion meal when I'm craving red meat.



Also good, but pricey, is Vaquero's at 1010 El Paseo de Saratoga (Saratoga Ave. at Campbell Ave.). It's a small, intimate restaurant with good service.



A newer restaurant is Park Place in Cupertino (DeAnza Blvd. at Stevens Creek Blvd.) I've never eatern there, but you can find reviews of it at:

south bay you should check out a.p stump's and there is one really good one in a hotel in downtown san jose is it the sheraton? i don't remember but they have wonderful steaks.

one in northern san jose is alexander's i feel like they have good food but the tend to not have the most orderly servers. my table sat there for like 25 mins waiting to get our food orders.



in san francisco house of prime rib is absolutely wonderful for prime rib of course. but if you really want steak you can go to Harri's. they are very good too.



also one more parcel 104 has very nice steak and seafood. they also have the most wonderful desserts so if you do go there make sure you leave room for dessert.

In San Jose my vote would be Blake's Steakhouse at 17 North San Pedro Square.(408-298-9221)They have great food and excellent service! I'd stay away from Birk's in Santa Clara (near Great America).It's over priced for the over cooked and overlooked service you receive.



In S.F. my vote would go to the following:



#1-Harris on Van Ness Ave (415-673-1888)they also have a website, www.harrisrestaurant.com. Fabulous food and service!You wouldn't be disappointed!



#2-Izzy's Steaks and Chops(which has a location in SF and San Carlos,which is north of San Jose on 101).Excellent food and service!(The SF contact # is 415-563-0487)



#3-Ruth's Chris Steak House on Van Ness Ave in SF.Good food though very touristy and can be hard to get reservations Much the same can be said of the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco.Good food,service is up and down, can be a long wait even with reservations (which are required well in advance).
