What is the best music as a soundtrack for a busy steakhouse restaurant?

The style of music would be a start, specific artists you'd include even better! What is the best music as a soundtrack for a busy steakhouse restaurant?
Whatever music best fits the image of the restaurant. A lot of people suggested Sinatra and Dean Martin and that music is great in it's own right, but it won't keep the younger crowd coming in and you may as well establish an early bird special for seniors because that's the demographic that music will attract. Also, there are TONS of steakhouses in NY that do play that kind of music anyway...Lugers, Sparks, Wollensky.

If you want to get closer to that vein but keep the younger customers happy as well, try Michael Buble, Peter Cincotti, Diana Krall, John Pizzarelli, Harry Connick Jr, etc.

There have been scientific studies that indicate faster music makes people eat faster but traditionally steakhouses are not customer mills (thank God). If we're talking about an upscale place, that will definitely not fly.

There are also a few steakhouses here that have small live jazz bands that also do some pop, R%26amp;B and oldies on request. I used to sing at Roth's Steakhouse on Columbus and 93rd and we always had a great draw. I don't know that they still have live music, the layout of the restaurant wasn't really the best for it, but they did try.

Charrascurria Plataforma in Midtown, which is considered a Brazilian steakhouse, has live Brazilian jazz every day.
More specific artists? You're looking for someone to do your work for you? Any album by any of the artists mentioned will be fine and I neglected to mention the band Pink Martini if you want to add some Euro and or latin but not have it overpower.

if you mean background dining music then you cant possibly please all people

everyone** loves a good steak but asking even four people at the same table, what they like musically will get you four different answers.

** no offense to vegetarians or anyone else everyone just means people from every different part of the world and with every different cultural background

classic pop mix or classical (Romantic) depending on the clientele and the pricing, and the mood set by the decor.
Rhianna-please dont stop the music.

Wild Cherry-Play that Funky Music White Boy

Basement Jaxx- romeo or good luck

Stevie Wonder-Superstition

UB40-Red Red Wine

Black Eyed Peas- lets get started and Hey Mamma

Jason Mraz-Geek in the Pink

Kelly Rowland-work

I hate to say this but you can add Britney Spears-toxic

Micheal Jackson songs.

You should have a variety to reflect the mood at night and day.

I say and dance/pop/rnb music would do but you an add some classics in there for the parents and older customers.
Classic Jazz, Armstrong, Fitzgerald, Mildred Baily, Lady Day, Charlie Parker etc.
Definitely swing and upbeat standards.
depends on the feel of the restaurant

I would say Sinatra, Dean Martin, jazzy type stuff

or you could go the complete opposite and go with country
