What would happen if I ordered a well-done steak at a fine steakhouse that serves Prime steaks?

Will they refuse to cook their steaks to that level since it's a waste of good meat?

Well done is the best steak imo. Tender and still juicy. Nothing will happen. They'll cook your steak well done, and you'll eat and be merry.
It's not a waste of good meat to the restaurant because you are still paying the same price. I worked at a fine dining steakhouse for awhile actually and people occasionally ordered well done steak. Trust me, it was the same steak just cooked longer. In my opinion it's a waste not to the restaurant but to you. You're spending alot of money on a good steak and then ruining it by getting it well done, but hey, if that's what you like it's your tastebuds and your money!What would happen if I ordered a well-done steak at a fine steakhouse that serves Prime steaks?
I worked at a steak house for several years. A reputable steak house always carries good quality steaks and don't cheat people by serving low grade steaks when people order them well done.



They will cook it as you want. The waiters will look at you funny but they will be polite and smile, the chef will probably shake his head. But they will do their best to make you happy. Just don't put ketchup on it, not on prime steak ... please.

I think they'd give you a well done steak. What's the problem? Your paying for it. The're selling it. Get what you want.
we dont allow certain cuts to be cooked anything above medium. it is a waste of good meat.
