I worked at Outback for a little over 3 years. I've been gone from there almost as long, but I do know that if your trainer is any good, they will give you a cheat sheet to "study" with or let you create one with their help. Also, unless you have never served anywhere else, the abbrevations and ticket writing/menu test is really common sense. Don't stress too much about it though. The test isn't to fail you, it's just to make sure you know how to communicate the menu items to the customers.
My trainer was pretty cool and when I couldn't remember the rest of the meu items, she let me come back the next day to finish the test.

How difficult is the Outback Steakhouse Menu test?I've done this test at a different restaurant. You should make yourself some flashcards and just practice, practice, practice!
It is unlikely they would fire you if you fail the first time.
