Company Christmas party to be held at steakhouse, despite vegetarians on staff?

Four of us (out of 15) eat no meat at all. Isn't it a bit inconsiderate for the owner to have our Christmas party at a steakhouse? Should we say something?

I've checked the menu and even their salads have meat in them.Company Christmas party to be held at steakhouse, despite vegetarians on staff?
Well, it's probably not a bad thing to point it out, politely. However, a Christmas party is like a gift. You don't complain about gifts. You say "thank you." If you don't eat meat and there's nothing on the menu that suits you, then eat beforehand and limit yourself to drinks. When they ask you why you're not eating, just say directly but politely (without a "tone") that you love the restaurant but since you're a vegetarian you can't eat meat.
Yes you should say something. Just bring it up to the organizer of the party and explain that there are four vegetarians and would they please make arrangement to have vegetarians dishes available. I think you'll find that the organizer as well as the steak house will be accommodating.Company Christmas party to be held at steakhouse, despite vegetarians on staff?
Request IN ADVANCE four vegetarian meals. If the restaurant does not oblige you, don't eat, or don't go and be sure to say why.
Most middle of the road ( in price) restaraunts are probably considered "steakhouses" and EVERY restaraunt but a vegetarian/vegan restaraunt will have a menu consisting mainly of meat or poultry or seafood items. I am sure that there is something that can either have the meat ommited or does not come with meat - order a couple of appetizers instead of one entre'. Should 11 people be made to eat at a vegetarian place because 4 of you don't eat meat. They won't force you to get a steak, nor will anyone look at you sideways if you order something that happens to not include meat.

You can choose to be offended or you can choose to realize that your bosses probably are NOT going out of their way to offend you and the other vegetarians.
Fortunately there is still plenty of time to change restaurants. All of you, or any one of you, should talk to the person who chose the restaurant - either the boss or the party planner. Explain that you are vegetarian and will have problems finding something to eat there. Vegetarianism is a choice, just like keeping kosher is a choice, and it should be dealt with as politely as if you had allergies. They wouldn't take somebody deathly allergic to shellfish to a crabshack, and they won't take vegetarians to a steak house if the situation is explained politely.
I think it is rude to complain.

Your employer is actually doing something nice... leave it alone.

I'm sure you can ask them to hold the meat on a salad.
Call the steakhouse and ask what they have on their menu for vegetarians. Then ask your boss if there would be a problem with the 4 of you ordering from this menu. I'm guessing that you are only going to be given a few choices to pick from. If it's an open menu, then I think there should be something, just ask.
There is always something you can order in any restaurant. Salads can be requested without the meat. Honestly, the owner shouldn't be brought to task when only 4 out of 15 have special requests. Life isn't always fair and more people eat meat than not.
I'm sure arrangements can be made for the four of you to have something other than meat. Any place will be happy to make a salad to your liking. I always make sure they leave cheese, black olives and chic peas off mine.
you could always quit your whining and eat some meat.
